샤카디타 코리아의 통번역 액션팀(Action Team)이 9월 14일부터 힘차게 활동을 시작했다. G.E.P.의 모든 수료생과 세계불교정보사이트 구축 사업의 번역위원을 대상으로 운영하는 액션팀은 매 회 자율적으로 참석할 수 있다. 9월 14일부터 시작하여 매달 둘째, 넷째 주 금요일 7시 불교여성개발원에서 모여 2시간씩 공부한다. 주로 미국의 유명 불교잡지인 『Lion’s Roar』에 실린 글을 뽑아 홍보간사 시드니 톰슨 Sydney Thompson이 녹음하여 기사 링크와 함께 온라인으로 공유하면 예습해오는 방식으로 운영한다. 공부시간에는 이 내용을 강독하며 토론한 뒤 동시통역 연습을 하며 복습한다.
수강료는 없으며, 결과물은 어떤 형태로든 출판하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
The “Sakyadhita-Korea Translation Action Team” will be active from September 14th. The study group, “Shako Translation Action Team” is open to anyone who has attended G.E.P. and who has served on the translation committee in helping with the World Buddhist Information site. The schedule starts in September and gathers at the Buddhist Women’s Development Institute at 7 pm every other Friday, for two hours, every month. The opening class is Friday, September 14th.
We will discuss content from Lion’s Roar, an American Buddhist magazine, as well as review simultaneous translation. PR assistant Sydney Thompson will provide voice recordings of the Lion’s Roar articles. The reading and listening materials will be distributed online in advance. There is no tuition. Our goal is to publish all study results in any possible form.
